Ice Cold is a piano and trombone duet written with the main goal to create a serious, tense atmosphere while putting emphasis on trombone glissandos. Ice Cold tells the story of a lost soul who feels empty and alone as they try to convince themself that everything is perfectly fine when in reality, things are horrible. The lost soul spends most of its time wallowing alone with strong mental distress, but sometimes the lost soul cannot take it and they snap, letting out their inner feelings of frustration and anger despite their attempts to convince themself that nothing is wrong. This piece premiered on May 24, 2024, performed by Benjamin Isamoyer and myself, Brayden Bogdon.
