Brand New Day begins with a terrifying string section rising in. This is how waking up to a new day felt to me at the time I wrote this. This was back in March 2023. There is no specific meaning behind much of the contents of this song, I just tried writing a song while depressed and Brand New Day was created. An electronic groove then takes over, setting the atmosphere of how every day felt. I tried incorporating electronic elements because I felt much of my music quite often lacked any electronic sound. There is a “happier” section this song takes on about ¾ of the way through that was composed because I felt I didn’t compose happy things enough. I wanted to try to write something a little bit happier this time. I think it shows a lot about my mental state at the time, that section still feels very off and still has the depressing energy of the first half of the song.
